As a student, you are eligible to submit a preferred name change to reflect this preference. Be advised, if approved, this preferred name will be displayed within most campus systems including your Student Center, BeachBoard account, and will update your BeachMail username. For instructions on submitting a preferred name change, follow the steps listed below after accessing your respective Student Center via Single-Sign-On:
- Select "Names" option located underneath the "Personal Information" heading
- Click "Request Preferred Name Change" button
- Enter your preferred first name in the designated field and select "Submit" to finish
If approved, please allow 24-48 hours for account processing.
Note: If you would like to update your lastname, you will need to submit a Legal Name Change Request Form. This form can be found at the
Enrollment Services Forms page underneath the "Registration/Records Forms" heading.
