How to Remove or Forget a Wireless Network

When you change your BeachID password you need to update the password on all devices that you use to connect to campus wi-fi and email. These instructions will help you update the password on all devices or your BeachID account will become locked out.

Also, these instructions can help fix beachnet+ network connection issues by removing, also called forgetting, the network profile and reconnecting to the beachnet+ network.

Android

  1. Enter your device's Settings via the app or gear icon.
  2. Tap on Connections. screenshot of connections option in settings
  3. Tap on Wi-Fi.
  4. Touch and hold on beachnet+ and then tap Forget network from the menu it appears on.screenshot of the Forget Network option
  5. Reconfigure the wireless network by following the instructions in this article Connecting Your Devices to WiFi and Campus Email.

Apple iPhone and iPad

  1. Go to Settings, then tap on Wi-Fi. screenshot of iPhone wifi settings
  2. Tap the blue "i" next to the network name.
  3. Choose Forget this Network screenshot of option to Forget This Network
  4. To recconnect, return to Wi-Fi screen and select beachnet+ again.  You will be prompted to enter your username and password.  More instructions can be found in this article Connecting Your Devices to WiFi and Campus Email.

Mac OS X

  1. Click the wireless icon in the upper right corner and click Open Network Preferences... at the bottom of that menu.
  2. Make sure Wi-Fi is selected on the left and click the Advanced... button.
  3. Under Preferred Networks, click the beachnet+ network.
  4. Click the minus (-) button below the box to remove the network then click the OK button.
  5. Click Okay and Apply in the previous Network window to save the changes. You may also need to turn the Wi-Fi off and back on again to see the change.
  6. Reconfigure your wireless network by following the instructions in this article Connecting Your Devices to WiFi and Campus Email.

Windows 10

  1. Click the Network icon on the lower right corner of your screen.
  2. Then click Network Settings.
  3. In the Settings window click Manage Wi-Fi Networks.
  4. Click on beachnet+.
  5. Then click the Forget button.
  6. Reconfigure your wireless network by following the instructions in this article Connecting Your Devices to WiFi and Campus Email.

Windows 7

  1. Right-click the Network icon in the taskbar notification area.
  2. Click Open Network and Sharing Center.
  3. Click Manage wireless networks
  4. Right click the beachnet+ network and click Remove network. Click OK if prompted to confirm.
  5. Reconfigure your wireless network by following the instructions in this article Connecting Your Devices to WiFi and Campus Email.

Windows 8

  1. Click the wireless icon in the bottom right corner.
  2. Right click on beachnet+ (for tablets, you may need to tap and hold on the network name).
  3. Select Forget this network.
  4. Reconfigure your wireless network by following the instructions in this article Connecting Your Devices to WiFi and Campus Email.
