Service Overview

Every active student is provided their own CSULB email address (firstname.lastname@student.csulb.edu) upon matriculation.  This email address is the primary mode of communication from the university to students and is part of a package of web-based services provided by Microsoft Office 365.

How do I…

Check Email

  1. Sign into your Single Sign-On account via https://sso.csulb.edu
  2. Enter your Campus Email Address (e.g Elbee.Shark01@student.csulb.edu).
  3. Enter your Password.
  4. Click Sign in.
  5. Click on the Outlook Email app to access your email account.

 

Forward email to another address

Use rules to automatically forward messages to another account.

How long can I keep my email account?

Student email accounts are available to active students and are deactivated approximately 395 days/13 months months after the student leaves the University.

Use student email account in accessibility mode (low vision experience)

If you have low vision and use a screen reader or high contrast settings, you can select the blind and low vision experience to optimize viewing. This setting can be set as the default the first time you login. If you need to change the setting after your first login:

  1. Sign in.
  2. Select Options.
  3. Select Settings and then the General tab.
  4. In the 'Accessibility' section, check or uncheck Use the blind and low vision experience.
  5. Select Save.
  6. You will likely need to sign out and sign back into your email account for the change to be reflected.

Modify regional settings (language and time zone)

These settings can be set as the default the first time you login. If you need to change the setting after your first login:

  1. Sign in.
  2. Select Options.
  3. Select Settings and then the Regional tab.
  4. Make your desired changes.
  5. Select Save.

Set up student email on mobile device

Policies

CSULB Campus IDs and Passwords will be used by Microsoft to authenticate users.  Names and email addresses are listed in the directory unless an individual has a restricted record.
