Service Overview
Remote access services, or Virtual Private Network (VPN), is a campus network solution allowing individuals to securely access internal networks and computers over the Internet while away from campus, using encrypted tunnels to ensure data cannot be accessed without authorization.
Service Details
Campus employees, students, and approved non-employees can visit https://protect.csulb.edu to download and install the VPN software to computers or laptops.
Please note:
- the VPN service, as well as the download page, are only accessible while off campus. Because it is not necessary to use VPN on the campus’ already secure network, it is not available while on campus.
- in order to install the VPN software, you must have admin rights to the computer. Please contact your technical coordinator if you have issues installing.
Non-employees may obtain VPN-access approval by having campus sponsors using the Guest Account Form link below.
