6.4 Recording Greetings and Prompts for MiCC

Overview

Using Audacity software, departments are able to record their own greetings and queue messages for their MiCC call centers.  Recordings must be saved as WAV files in the correct format before being submitted to Telecom to be uploaded.

Copying Software and Updating Recording Preferences

Go to \\campus.ad.csulb.edu\campus\Install\Common\Mitel\MiCC Enterprise and copy audacity-2.3.2.zip to your PC.

Right click zip file and extract all.

Open folder containing extracted files and open audacity.exe.

Update recording preferences to Mono:

  • Press Ctrl + P
  • Go to Devices
  • Change Channels to 1 (Mono)
  • Click OK

Recording and Saving Greetings

To record greeting:

  • Click the Record button to begin
  • Click the Stop button when finished

In bottom left corner, change Project Rate to 8000.

To save the recording:

  • Click File
  • Go to Export
  • Click Export as WAV

  • Enter file name
  • Change file type to Other uncompressed files
  • Change encoding to U-Law
  • Click Save
