Labeling Unwanted Email as Junk

Overview

You can label unwanted email as "junk" in order to program your email application to treat all future emails from the same senders as junk, which will then route those emails directly to your "Junk E-Mail" folder instead of your inbox.

Outlook and Outlook on the Web

Method One

  1. Select the email you wish to block and right-click on it.
  2. Select Junk, then Block Sender.

Method Two (for desktop Outlook only)

  1. Select the email you wish to block by left-clicking it.
  2. Select Junk and Block Sender from the top ribbon of the Home tab.

Android and iOS on Outlook mobile

  1. Select one or more messages.
  2. In the top-right corner, tap on the three vertical dots. The action menu opens .Outlook mobile dropdown action menu
  3. Tap Report Junk.
  4. Then select either Junk or PhishingAction menu showing the options Junk and Phishing

Apple Only

Mac Mail:

  1. In the Mail app on Mac, select a message.
  2. Click the Junk button in the Mail toolbar (or use the Touch Bar). Mail moves the message to the Junk mailbox.

iOS:

  1. Open the Mail app on your iPhone and navigate to your inbox.
  2. Swipe left on the email you want to mark as spam.
  3. This will reveal three options: More, Flag, and Trash. Tap the gray "More" option.
  4. Tap "Mark..." from the pop-up menu that appears.
