Using Moderated @csulb Distribution Groups


Creating a moderated distribution group sets up a message approval process for the distribution group. In other words, before a message could be sent out, it must be approved by the moderator, who also has access to reject a message.


  1. The process begins with a message that is sent to the desired distribution group.

  2. Moderator will receive an email requested approval to approve or reject the message. A copy of the message to be released can be found in the Message line. Double click on the message to view its contents.

  3. The message will be distributed if you select "Approve". It will not be distributed if you select "Reject."
