Accessing BeachNet+ Wireless with Windows 10

The following instructions describe how to use Windows 10 to connect to BeachNet+ and designate BeachNet+ as your default SSID (wireless network).

NOTE: To connect to BeachNet+, you must have a valid nine digit CampusID and your BeachID password. If you have not activated your BeachID password, visit https://beachid.csulb.edu/. Also note that you will need to update your password on your mobile device whenever you update your BeachID password.

Connect to BeachNet+

  1. Click the Wireless icon in system tray.

  2. Click Network settings

  3. Click Network and Sharing Center.

  4. Click "Set up a new connection or network".

  5. Click "Manually connect to a wireless network" and Next.

  6. In the Network name field enter "beachnet+", in the Security type dropdown, select "WPA2-Enterprise" and click "Next."

  7.  Click "Change connection settings".

  8. Click on the Security tab and click "Settings".

  9. Check box next to "AddTrust External CA Root" and click "Configure".

  10. Confirm "Automatically use my Windows logon name and password" is not checked and click OK and OK again.

  11. Click "Advanced Settings" and check box next to "Specify authentication mode:" select "User Authentication" and click OK and OK again. Click Close to save new beachnet+ profile.

  12. After closing last window, Windows will prompt for username and password.
  13. Connect to beachnet+ wireless by clicking the wireless icon and selecting "beachnet+" from the list of available networks.
  14. If you are prompted to Terminate or Connect, examine the certificate details for the Radius Server names "its-clear01.campus.ad.csulb.edu" or "its-clear02.campus.ad.csulb.edu" or "its-wifiauth01.campus.ad.csulb.edu" and is signed by AddTrust External CA Root or InCommons CA. Then click Connect.
