Delete an Autocomplete Address in Outlook

If outdated or incorrect addresses appear when composing emails in Outlook, you can remove individual autocomplete entries.

Steps:

  • In Outlook (desktop): Start a new email, type the address, and click the X next to the incorrect suggestion.

  • In Outlook on the web (OWA): Start a new email, use the arrow keys to highlight the incorrect address, and press Delete on your keyboard.

Notes:

  • If issues persist, search your Contacts and Suggested Contacts folders to remove outdated entries.

  • You can also clear the entire autocomplete list by going to File > Options > Mail > Empty Auto-Complete List.

  • If problems continue, you may need to create a new Outlook profile. Contact your IT support for assistance.
