Campus Computing Account Quick Reference

Each authorized CSULB employee and student has a campus computing account, which consists of your campus ID, University provided email address, and your password.  Your account enables you to use CSULB computing services. Access to specific campus systems is based on your role within the University.


Use your campus email address and password to log in to services you've been authorized to access, such as:

Password Manager

The Password Manager is a web-based tool you'll use to manage your account. Use the Password Manager to:

  • Activate Your Account: If you are new to the University, you will need to setup your password and multi-factor authentication (MFA) methods.
  • Reset Your Password: If you have forgotten your password (Note:  you are limited to resetting/changing your password to one time per 24 hour period.  If you attempt to change your password within a 24 hour period of already changing it, it will not work until 24 hours has lapsed.  If you need to change your password within this freeze period, please contact the Technology Help Desk for assistance.

Password Expiration Every 365 Days

For security purposes, your password must be changed every 365 days.  You may receive a standard reminder notification to renew your password as your current password approaches the 365 day expiration. 

Password Requirements

Your password is case-sensitive and must:

  • Be 10-16 characters in length
  • Contain three of the following four character types:
    • Uppercase letters (A through Z)
    • Lowercase letters (a through z)
    • Numbers (0 through 9)
    • Special characters (` ~ ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) _ + - = { } | [ ] \ : " ; ' < > ? , . /)

Additionally, your password must not:

  • Contain spaces
  • Include any part of your full name
  • Contain non-English characters
  • Match any of your previous passwords
  • Your password will be locked after 5 unsuccessful attempts, which will require you to contact the Technology Help Desk for assistance of how to unlock your account.

NOTE:  If you have configured your mobile device(s), such as smartphones, iPads, etc., to receive campus email or to connect to campus wireless networks, update your password on these device(s) with your new password in order for them to continue receiving your campus email and to automatically connect to campus wireless networks.
