Configuring Standard Web Browsers for Tab Viewing

Internet Explorer

  1. Open Internet Explorer.
  2. Click Tools (or the gear symbol).
  3. Click Internet Options.
  4. Click the Tabs  button within the General tab.
  5. Under the When a pop-up is encountered section, select Always open pop-ups in new tab.
  6. Click OK until you are back in your browser.

Mozilla Firefox

  1. Open FireFox.
  2. Click on the FireFox menu (three lines hamburger icon on the top right side). 
  3. Click on Options.
  4. In the General tab, find the section Tabs
  5. Check Open links in tabs instead of new windows

Safari for Windows

  1. Open Safari.
  2. Click on Edit menu.
  3. Click on Preferences.
  4. Click on Tabs.
  5. Within “Open pages in tabs instead of windows”, change the setting to: Always.

Safari for Mac

  1. Open Safari.
  2. Click on the Safari menu.
  3. Click on Preferences.
  4. Click on Tabs.
  5. Within “Open pages in tabs instead of windows”, change the setting to: Always.
