Technology Help Desk Virtual Kiosk

The Virtual Kiosk is available to all CSULB students, faculty, and staff who may need on-demand technology-related assistance during Technology Help Desk's active hours of operation.

OVERVIEW

The Technology Help Desk Virtual Kiosk offers convenient, real-time support during posted hours of operation. Students and employees can access help at two physical locations within the University Library, or remotely from a smart phone or computer with Internet access.  The two kiosks located within the Library are designed for ease of use, with a touch-screen interface that connects you directly to the Technology Help Desk for personalized support.

  • Available Hours (Fall 2024): Monday through Thursday: 8 am – 8 pm; Friday: 8 am – 5 pm

HOW TO ACCESS

Located on 1st & 5th Floors of the University Library: Look for the touch-screen digital displays.

Using the Virtual Kiosk

  1. Start a Session:

    • Tap the screen to activate the kiosk.
    • Select Join Meeting from the available options.
  2. Follow On-Screen Instructions:

    • The system will guide you through a series of prompts to connect you to a Technology Help Desk representative.
    • You will be asked to identify yourself (student ID, name, etc.).
  3. Begin Your Session:

    • Once connected, you'll have a live session with a Technology Help Desk staff member who will assist with your issue.

Access Methods On Your Own Device / On-the-Go

  • Visit the Technology Help Desk home page, and under New Virtual Support, click on "Start Video Meeting."
  • Scan the QR Code: Use your smart phone to scan the QR code displayed on the kiosk, which will connect you to the Help Desk via your smart device.
  • Call or Email: Contact the Technology Help Desk at 562-985-4959 or email at helpdesk@csulb.edu.
