Signing Out of Microsoft Documents

Issue

If you are experiencing issues accessing your Microsoft Office 365 app content, such as opening and saving documents, please try signing out of that particular application and log back in.  By logging out of the document(s) and logging back in, access to services can sometimes be restored.

For Microsoft Office Software on the Web

  1. On the top right corner of your screen is your profile name.  Click on it.  User profile section of the page
  2. Select Sign Out.  Sign Out option of a user profile

For Local Desktop version of Microsoft Office Software 

  1. On the top right corner of your screen is your profile name.  Click on it.  User Profile section of the document
  2. Select Switch User.  Option to switch user
  3. Select Sign Out.  Option to Sign Out
  4. The following screen will ask for your confirmation to sign out.  Select Yes.  Remove Account dialog box says: "Removing this account will sign you out from this and other Office applications.  It will remove all customizations, and your documents and notebooks may not sync to the server until you sign back in. All open Office applications must be closed for sign out to be complete.  Do you want to sign out of this account now?
